Did you know:
- We offer telephone consultations every day
- We offer a minor injuries service - if you can't decide whether to attend A&E or your GP Surgery - contact us first!! We offer late evening surgeries until 8pm on Mondays & Tuesdays!
- We can offer appointments Monday to Friday evenings - up until 10pm and at weekends 8.30am - 5.30pm at Cumbria Health Extended Access Service located in A&E Department. Ask the receptionist for further details!

Our practice is a training practice and we usually have GP Registrars working with us. GP Registrars are fully qualified and have already done training in hospitals. You can expect them to provide a full range of GP services. If they are not certain about what to do they will ask more senior colleagues for advice.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel, you will need to fill in a travel assessment form. The Nurse will then contact you to discuss what vaccines are needed having done a travel assessment. Only certain vaccines are available on the NHS - these are Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Cholera, Tetanus, Polio and Diptheria. Other travel vaccines need to be sourced privately via private travel clinics. We offer a full range of family planning services including the fitting/removal of contraceptive coils and implants.
We offer full sexual health screening services here at the practice.
Childhood immunisation clinics are held on Tuesdays between 1.00pm and 3.00pm. If this is not convenient, other times may be arranged.
To arrange a cervical smear, please request an appointment with a Practice Nurse.
Each GP undertakes antenatal and post-natal care, or you can opt to have the majority of your maternity care with a community midwife.
We undertake minor operations and joint injections. Please make an appointment to discuss this with your Doctor.
Child Health Surveillance
The GP's and Health Visitors carry out child development checks.
We will see and treat minor injuries in the Practice, including wounds requiring stitches, burns, foreign bodies, falls. We can refer on for x-rays if appropriate. Please use A&E for significant injuries including fractures, as well as for medical emergencies.
Drug & Alcohol Shared Care Services
We run weekly drug and alcohol shared care sessions in conjunction with Unity. Appointments are arranged through key workers within Unity and not made by the Practice.
Formal Medical Examinations
Private occupational medical examinations are available to patients registered here and elsewhere
D4 (bus and hgv) ENG1 (seafarers) and OGUK (offshore oil and gas/ windfarms) medicals available
